Discover the elegance and rhythm of Argentine Tango in this welcoming beginner class. "Tango Connections" focuses on the fundamentals of movement, timing, and leading or following with clear, comfortable connection. No partner or experience required—just bring comfortable shoes and an open mind.
En-Chi began her journey in partner dancing with Argentine Tango in 2008 and has been dedicated to the art of social dance ever since. Her passion for fostering tango communities led her to co-found the CU Tango Music Festival in 2021—an annual weekend of workshops, concerts, and milongas that brings together dancers and musicians from across the country.
With a warm and encouraging teaching style, En-Chi loves helping dancers connect more deeply—with the music, with each other, and with the ever-evolving dance of tango itself.

Attentive listening: A dance improvisational practice and Contact Dance Combined- ON HOLD FOR THE SUMMER
Taught by Rebeca Mendina
11:45 - 1:15p
This class will bring together somatic research and improvisation. Combining release techniques and body-mind practices, we will explore states of movement that will develop a strong physical practice that focus on discovering new challenges and take risks within our movement. The body will be prepared to engage in improvisational and compositional processes. There will be a lot of solos, duets and ensemble dancing. This class will honor each individual within the group, their processes and their own unique history.
Contact Improvisation (CI) is a dance form based on the ongoing dialogue between two bodies that are in physical contact, improvising with weight, listening, balance, gravity, momentum, reflex and inertia. In this class we will be studying, exploring and defining its fundamental concepts: the rolling point of contact, falling and rolling, weight exchange, counterbalance and off-balance, basic lift vocabulary and principles, continuity of motion, momentum and physical listening. We will be moving with others while taking care of our own body and needs. No experience is required; we will be building this community together!
