Tango at UDC 

It’s easy to get started dancing the tango. It might look complicated, but you can learn the essentials of tango in a few weeks! As a dancer, you will gain confidence, poise and elegance while having fun learning new skills. You will get hooked on the feeling.

TUESDAY

BEGINNER CLASS

Tango Connections- beginner level course

Taught by En-Chi Lin

7:30 - 8:30p

Starts May 20

Discover the elegance and rhythm of Argentine Tango in this welcoming beginner class. "Tango Connections" focuses on the fundamentals of movement, timing, and leading or following with clear, comfortable connection. No partner or experience required—just bring comfortable shoes and an open mind. 

With a warm and encouraging teaching style, En-Chi loves helping dancers connect more deeply—with the music, with each other, and with the ever-evolving dance of tango itself.

Shoes: Shoes required. Preferably smooth sole, non-grip, to allow pivoting and spins.

THURSDAY

BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

Tango 1 - Tango Foundation
Starts May 29

Taught by Joe and Carlota

6:30 - 7:30p

Open to Beginners. Drop-ins welcome

Description: Master the fascinating elements of Argentine tango dancing. In this course you will learn moves, techniques, and use of the music that form the repertoire of social tango dancing.

Prerequisite: No previous experience required.

 

Tango 2 - Tango Topics. Intermediate level

Starts May 29

Taught by Joe and Carlota

7:45 - 9:00p 

Description: Each class begins with a tango skills warmup and then explores a concept or a sequence. Open to intermediates and above. Ongoing through the end of semester.

Prerequisite: Previous course in tango from Joe & Carlota

Drop-ins welcome.

Practilonga

Tango Practice Dance
 

Practilonga is a combination of a Milonga (social dance) and a Practica (practice session).

It’s a beginner friendly opportunity to activate what you are learning in tango class. Feel free to stop and figure out your moves, ask questions of teachers who are present, and try new things.

Milongas

Milongueros from the region gather to dance, socialize, enjoy snacks and beverage.

Come and enjoy beautiful tango dancing in the spacious ballroom Urbana Dance Company.
