For the past year I have been organizing the Dance Artist Residency Program, DARP, at Urbana Dance Company with Kate Insolia. It has been a very beautiful experience to bring artists from C-U and from other parts of the country to not only create work at the studio but also to share it with our community.

I am excited to have my own residency in December and to share my work with you all. I have invited my collaborators Jennifer Monson, Elise Knudson (Oakland) and Jason Finkelman to join me in the studio with their listening, awareness, experience and openness to be with me as an immigrant artist with my questions and intentions.

I am also inviting you to be our witness. To be with us, while we infuse the space with our practice of improvising, listening, perceiving our bodies in motion, the space and the sound surrounding us. During the residency we will be developing scores that allowed us to weave between the landscapes that each of us grew up with as a home and the one that holds us now, here in the Midwest. The scores will be embodied maps to help us find freedom of feeling and with it navigate relations, decisions, cycles, time, connections, and balance while dancing.
